This time, from Mesa, AZ, it’s Gotham City Comics and Collectibles! Gotham has a diver selection of toys, collectibles, books, imports, and comics and has won Best Comic Shop in Phoenix multiple times from the Phoenix New Times.

Gotham will have some life-size prop replicas from the movie CREEPSHOW at the show, as well as a curated selection of replica masks, toys, and collectibles sure to be spooky and cool. One we’re very excited to share with you is Bonefied, a husband and wife team from Chandler, AZ that specialize in unique bone carvings, artwork and jewelry!

Bonefied specializes in creating unique custom artwork and jewelry made from actual animal skulls and bones. Their artwork is very eye-catching and evocative and sure to make a wonderful centerpiece for your spooky at-home menagerie. Catch them at Monster Market Saturday October 7th and say hello!

Monster Market is just under 2 weeks away and we’ve still got a lot of fun announcements to make. On top of some awesome vendors like Sweet Midnight, Chadwick Haverland Art, Modified Minds, and many more, we’re doing workshops and other activities to keep you entertained. The mission behind StarFighters Arcade is to promote, preserve and project the vintage arcade gaming genre into the future for new generations to enjoy. With this humble goal in mind we saw an opportunity to act as a local resource for enthusiasts, we offer free limited technical advice, and (with permission) will promote businesses that we’ve had favorable interactions with. Additionally if you as an individual would like to buy sell or trade a game you can post your ad at our location for free. We truly want to be that place where you can play some of your all time favorites, listen to some great music, chat about the hobby or just save the universe from marauding hordes of alien invaders!!! Who You Gonna Call on October 7th for Monster Market? The Phoenix Ghostbusters!

At Monster Market, happening on Saturday October 7th at The Moxy Hotel Tempe, we’re trying to give you a lot of awesome vendors and a lot of workshops to make your holiday the best it can be. On the workshop front, we had to call The Phoenix Ghostbusters, Phoenix’s leading 501(c)(3) charity costuming group, based on the beloved Sony Ghostbusters franchise.

The Phoenix Ghostbusters, who utilize the theatrics of Ghostbusters, to give back to the community through charitable establishments per their non-profit status. They also celebrate the Ghostbusters franchise by attending events that reflect the culture of costuming, which is right up the alley of Monster Market!

The Phoenix Ghostbusters will be doing a workshop at Monster Market, talking about creating and fabricating props and costumes for your Halloween holiday. They will also be available for photo opportunities and will have one of their Ecto-1 vehicles available for photographs and general viewing! We’re getting excited as Monster Market creeps ever closer to haunting the Moxy on Saturday October 7th in Tempe, Arizona. One of the ways we want to get you excited is by sharing some more info about our wondrously wicked exhibitors, such as Severin Films!

Meet Marshall Shore – Learn about the Haunted History of Phoenix at Monster Market!

At Monster Market, we want our attendees to take the spirit of the Halloween season home with them when you attend our. But did you know Phoenix has a history of hauntings and spirits lingering in the ether of the Valley of the Sun? You will, when you listen to Arizona’s Hip Historian, Marshall Shore, regale the attendees of Monster Market on the Haunted History of Phoenix on Saturday October 7th at The Moxy Tempe!

Through the vehicle of true crime and spine-chilling Arizona lore, this presentation highlights macabre stories and their historical background, including the tale of Winnie Ruth Judd, Arizona’s most infamous murderer, and the tale of the Red Ghost and the release into the wild desert of unknown animals (today, we know them as camels). Shore uses a blend of storytelling magic, old photographs, ephemera, and artifacts to bring our state’s heritage to life in this entertaining and educational presentation. The audience will leave with a unique perspective of Arizona.

New event from producers of Tempe’s Cult Classics AZ focuses on Halloween and spooky-themed craft vendors and artists, with workshops from local notables and closes with a 30th anniversary outdoor screening of THE LOST BOYS.

TEMPE, AZ – As the Halloween season creeps in with fall approaching, the team behind Tempe’s long running Cult Classics AZ monthly film revival series is launching an all-new festival event to ring in the most haunted of all holidays.

That event is MONSTER MARKET PHOENIX, taking place on Saturday, October 7th, 2017 at the boutique hotel MOXY in Tempe, AZ, promises to be an event to remember for the dedicated Halloween and scary happenings enthusiast. MONSTER MARKET will feature twenty curated local artists and vendors specializing in Halloween and spooky themed goods, crafts, and artwork in a dedicated vendor space open from 10 AM to 6 PM. While attendees can shop from a juried marketplace of Halloween and horror themed decor, jewelry, clothing and more, there will simultaneously also be workshops happening throughout the day where local creatives will share tips, recipes and crafts on how to make their Halloween season a more personal and unique experience. Workshops on everything from telling ghost stories, to how to make the perfect Halloween party cocktail and on the haunted history of Phoenix highlight MONSTER MARKET’S programming slate. There will also be appearances and photo opportunities with costume groups like the Phoenix Ghostbusters, culminating with a costume contest with prizes from local and national businesses ranging from collectibles to horror DVDs and more from Zia Records ( http://www.ziarecords.com ). Fans will also have a chance to test their horror film knowledge against that of Cult Following, recognized as one of Phoenix’s New Times’ Best Podcasts in Phoenix and hosts of Cult Following Film Trivia at Valley Bar in Phoenix.

Finally, attendees can wind down their night at 8:30 PM with a night time poolside dive-in screening of the 1987 classic teen vampire film THE LOST BOYS, presented by Cult Classics ( http://www.cultclassicsaz.com ) as part of their monthly “Dive-In” film residency at The Moxy Tempe.

MONSTER MARKET involves many prominent local culture creators in the Valley of the Sun. Local alternative and geeky events calendar Geekly Phoenix ( http://www.facebook.com/groups/geeklyphoenix ) is helping curate local talent for the event, while local paranormal podcast ‘The House of Freaks’ will be recording a live podcast at the event on the otherwordly and ghostly. Zia Records will also be at MONSTER MARKET, with a curated selection of classic horror soundtracks on vinyl as well as selling tickets to the event at all five of their Valley store locations.

Plus, The Moxy Tempe also has a special discounted room rate block for attendees attending the event so you can enjoy the festivies and then enjoy a good night’s sleep in one of the Moxy’s lush and comfortable hotel rooms.

Sweet Midnight is a shop like no other, bringing its customers ‘the dark side of cute’!

We started Sweet Midnight to fill a gap in the market. We wanted to give people a place to get cute yet creepy, well made, handmade items which couldn’t be found at the local mall. We want our customers to express their individuality by providing them with accessories, jewlery and artwork to adorn their lifestyles. We hand make and design most of the items in our Bisbee, Arizona studio.We can also be found in retail locations from new Orleans to Los Angeles. You can also find us online and vending our good throughout Arizona and California at various events.
